Tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 3) is untuck for a buck day. The students do NOT have to tuck their shirt in tomorrow if they bring in a dollar. This happens the first, third, and fifth Friday of each month.

Please remember to pack hats and gloves/mittens for your child. For our first recess the temperature is still in the 30's.

Please continue to go over the memory verse with your child a couple of times each day. The memory verse for this week is from John 14:19 "Jesus said, 'Because I live, you will also live." Memory is to be said on Thursday this week due to Spring break.

We will be adding the words friend, first, good, their, back, and morning to the word wall this week.

The students loved rollerskating this morning. They told me they wanted to go back right after we had arrived back at school.

Due to our two-hour delay on Friday we missed out on our roller-skating field trip. However, we are working on rescheduling the event.

On Thursday we will be going to the McMillian Health Center. Please turn in the permission slips by Tuesday. We will be leaving around 12:45, so I ask that car drivers be to school by 12:40.

Change of date: Baptismal remembrance is Wednesday March 31.

National Lutheran School's Week is next week (March 8-12). Each day we will be raising money to help build a Lutheran school in Liberia. Please bring any loose change you have throughout the week. We will collect the money in milk jugs and weigh them each day. Each day we will also have a special way in which to dress (if you do not dress up in the following ways then the normal dress code applies).

Monday is dress your best and wear a cross day.

Tuesday is Hawaiian day.

Wednesday is witness wear day. Wednesday is also games galore day, so your child may bring in his/her favorite game. We may not have time to play every game, however.

Thursday is hat day and Friday is dress in black and gold (wear jeans).

Next week is National Lutheran Schools week. Each day the students may dress up in certain ways (posted below). Please bring in coins each day. The coins will go to the mission project (building a Lutheran school in Liberia).

Monday, February 8th kicks off Spirit week. On Monday the students may wear PJ's to class. Tuesday is words on your shirt day, Wednesday is dress up day, Thursday is wacky day, and Friday is school spirit day. If you do not choose to dress up for these days then normal dress rules apply.
