katherineMinistry Vision: I believe that every child has the right to grow spiritually, physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally in a loving, supporting, and caring environment. If we do not grow spiritually then our relationship with God does not grow and then we are truly missing out on the most important thing in life. By growing in their faith students can express the love of their Lord to family and friends.

Favorite Bible Verse: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Favorite Book: I enjoy Eric Carle books and Max Lucado books. Eric Carle books are great for students because they allow students to participate in the readings because of the repetitive verses. I enjoy Max Lucado books because they tell the love of Jesus, while also using experiences that students have.

debbieMinistry vision: My opportunity to be an example of God's love begins new each morning of each day. My hope is that this is evident to the students and parents as we work together.

Favorite verse: "And we know that in all things God works together for the good of those who love Him and have been called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) - This is always a good reminder that God is in control of my life no matter what I am going through.

maryMinistry Vision: I see the ministry of St. John Emmanuel Lutheran School as one of ministering to parents as well as children. I feel that as we serve the children in our teaching, our outreach should also be to the families, enabling them to draw their children closer to Jesus. We can do this by supplying family-friendly materials and programs. We can also befriend them and call them when we see they can use our help. My vision in my classroom is to help my children grow in their love for Jesus. I would like them to develop a genuine kindness for each other, as well as a love for learning. Of course I would like them to excel in learning the curriculum, but more importantly are the afore mentioned goals.

Favorite Bible verse: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11) This verse gives me comfort and stability, knowing that God works all things for my spiritual benefit. It also helps me in remembering that I am in His plan for teaching His children.

priestMinistry Vision: I see the ministry of St. John - Emmanuel Lutheran School as a teaching ground for loving teachers who desire to instill the love of Christ as they learn and grow. I feel that, as a 2nd grade teacher, my personal ministry is to give my students a well rounded education, a love and knowledge of Christ our Savior, and to help them find a sense of growth and confidence that they will need as they prepare to move on to more advance grades.

Favorite Verse: Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to gain, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Favorite Bible Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. I know that I can trust in the Lord by putting every situation in God's hands through faithful prayer, and He will take care of me and my family in good times and in times of trouble or worry.

Favorite Verse: For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) This Bible verse has always been meaningful to me. It took on even more significance when my mother died suddenly. It was comforting to know that God held me and my future in His hands, even at such a difficult time. I believe I can trust the Lord and His plans for my life.

rachelMinistry/Teaching Vision: I believe that teachers are in a partnership with the parents, other teachers, and congregation. Our job is to educate our students academically as well as spiritually so that these children of God will grow in the knowledge of the love of their Creator and appreciate His creation.

Favorite Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. There is a Christian singing group called Sixpence None the Richer and they sang a song called "Trust." I love that song because it is a continual reminder to me that I need to trust God, and if I do, He will lead me in the right direction. About 2 years after I heard the song, I was reading my Bible in Africa during private devotion time and came upon the verse in which the song was based. It was Proverbs 3:5-6, and has been my favorite passage ever since.

sueMinistry Vision: "Lead 'them' to Jesus"

Favorite Bible verse: I have two favorite Bible "verses." The first is Psalm 121: 1-2 "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth." This part of Psalms has always calmed me and reminded me very clearly of Who is really in control of all that happens to me and those around me. These are the verses that have taken me prayerfully through many valleys in my life and joyfully up the hills. I always remember these verses in the wording of the King James Version mostly because that's the way I memorized them as a child; but the poetry of the words also evoke memories of David and his many struggles in life.

heidiMinistry Vision: I want children to see themselves as Jesus' redeemed treasures, and take Jesus with them wherever they go. I want to pass on the wonderful deeds of our Lord and Savior to the next generation, so my students will love and serve Him throughout their whole lives.

Personal life motto: Do all the good I can, for all the people I can, in any way that I can, in any place that I can.

Favorite Bible verse: And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17) My life is a life of faithfulness and praise to the end of my days, whether I find myself standing in the kitchen up to my elbows in dirty dishes, raking fallen leaves, or wherever God leads me, I will give thanks and praise to my God.

davidMinistry Vision: I have always looked as my ministry as threefold: 1.) To weave and integrate the Good News of Salvation through Christ alone into as many different facets of my teaching as humanly possible while showing the students how amazing God's Word truly is. 2.) To make learning as intriguing and interesting as possible in order to promote lifelong learning. And 3.) To teach the students life skills as well as the basic education skills.

Favorite Bible verse: John 19:35 The spear plunging into the side of Jesus is the final act of His atoning Sacrifice. The fact that blood and water came out is simply no accident, for they provide the Life-giving Blood and Water found in the sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism

emilyMinistry vision: I consider it a wonderful honor that I am charged with teaching children about the love of Jesus and at the same time equipping them with knowledge that will help them to carry out His plan for their life. I desire to be a channel through which the goodness of our God flows to my students.

Favorite Bible verse: 1Corinthians 12:9 My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. - This verse is a good reminder to me that it is not my abilities or power that serve God. That is good news on days that I feel down or tired. Our Lord can use all people no matter what their talents or capabilities are. In fact it is in those who are weak and dependent on God that His power is easily seen.
