debbieMinistry vision: My opportunity to be an example of God's love begins new each morning of each day. My hope is that this is evident to the students and parents as we work together.

Favorite verse: "And we know that in all things God works together for the good of those who love Him and have been called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28) - This is always a good reminder that God is in control of my life no matter what I am going through.

Favorite book: Mrs. Mike by B. and N. Freedman - The book is based on the real life of a Canadian Mountie and his wife in the early 1900's. I have read it 8 times! The story includes a lot of courage, adventure, and an example of how we should care for the people around us.

Favorite song: "Crown Him with Many Crowns" - I don't remember how or when this hymn became my favorite. For as long as I can remember it has been a favorite to sing in church. We even included it in our wedding ceremony so it is special now for that reason.

Who is Debbie Christian?

  • My husband is pastor at St. John
  • We have 4 children. They keep us very busy travelling and being involved in school events.
  • I have been a Hoosier since graduating from college. Prior to that I called Michigan home.
  • My first teaching job was in Kendallville, but we have also lived in Fort Wayne and southern Indiana.
  • I have enjoyed giving piano and guitar lessons to many students over the last 18 years.
  • I also enjoy cooking, sewing, painting, and READING!
