We are the work of His hand.
Isaiah 64:8

Mission Statement: The mission of St. John-Emmanuel Lutheran School is to prepare our children for service to the church and community through a caring, high-quality, Christ-centered education grounded in the Biblical teachings of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod

For more than 150 years, the ministry at St. John Lutheran Church (Flatrock) has included a Christian day school. The school has since grown to include our sister congregation, Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Soest). With the same principles that founded our school all those years ago, St. John-Emmanuel Lutheran School is looking toward our bright future with our roots firmly planted in our cherished past.

However, St John-Emmanuel boasts more than just a long history. For the fourth consecutive year St. John-Emmanuel a growing percentage of students earned a pass plus ranking for their ISTEP+ scores. We are also proud to say that of the Top 10 at Heritage Junior/Senior High School, St. John-Emmanuel graduates held four of the positions, and former St. John-Emmanuel students Sarah Knefelkamp and Kristen Grothaus led their class as valedictorian and salutatorian respectively.

As successful as our students have been, we continue to strive to meet individual needs and best practice in learning so our students are provided many different educational opportunities.

  • We are in the midst of incorporating Writing Workshop into our curriculum to provide daily writing opportunities for our students. As part of the training workshops our teachers have attended, we have had two students work included in the recent publication release of the second edition of Launching the Writing Workshop.
  • We have been working in ways to incorporate technology into our students lives in and outside the classroom is a God pleasing manner.
  • Our recycling program has continued to grow and for the second year in a row we have received a grant from the Allen County Solid Waste Management District.
